Topics
The following themes are to be addressed in the framework of this Conference:
- Karst Hydrogeology: water resources assessment, groundwater pollution and protection.
- Methods to study karst aquifers: based on hydrodynamic, hydrochemistry, isotopes, dye tracing, geophysical surveys and modelling techniques.
- Karst Geomorphology and Landscape.
- Mining and Engineering in karst media: mining and large structures (tunnels, dams, etc.).
- Karst cavities: touristic caves, natural heritage.
Abstracts
The topics of interest will be experiences and case studies, techniques used and results obtained in recent scientific research on karst. Free papers may be presented. Initially, an abstract of 300 to 500 words should be submitted. Papers accepted by the Scientific Committee will be included in a proceedings report. The papers that meet the requirements will be selected for publication in a Springer book series. In addition, an expanded version of the most interesting papers will be published in a special issue of the journal Environmental Earth Sciences. Guidelines for authors will be provided in the next circular.
The official language of the Symposium will be English, and papers should be presented in English (orally or as posters), although papers written in French and Spanish will be accepted for publication in a proceedings that will be distributed to attendees.
Full-length papers
Upon revision, you must upload to INDICO the final paper that will be included in the proceeding books of the congress. This document can be an abstract or, preferably, a full-length paper. Please note that a selection of peer-reviewed full articles of the conference will be published as individual chapters in the Eurokarst 2022 conference book to appear in the Springer series “Advances in Karst Science”. If you decide to submit only the abstract, do not forget to include the improvements suggested by the reviewers. You should indicate the paper’s title, the authors’ names, and their affiliation in the document.
Keywords or acknowledgements are also welcome. Please note that if you choose this option, your contribution will not be included in Springer’s Eurokarst 2022 conference book but only in the electronic proceeding book.template.
Manuscripts should be written in English and comply with Springer’s manuscript guidelines for format and style, using the availableFull detailed instructions for authors are available on the Springer website.
Remember that the submitted paper should be 8-10 pages long, including title, authors’ names and affiliation, keywords, the body of the paper, tables and figures, acknowledgements (if needed), and references.

Communications will be managed through the Indico platform. You must first register with a user account to access the submission form. This user account will allow you to track your communication and register later for the event, workshops, field trips, etc.
Young researchers awards
The eurokarst organization will award the best oral communication and the best poster presented by a young researcher.
