A visit of the Citadel of Besançon will be organized on Monday 2 July in the evening after the conference. The Citadel is a 17th-century fortress designed by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, who was a military engineer in the service of Louis XIV. It is an UNESCO world heritage site since 2008. From the geological point of view the Citadel is located on top of an anticline:

Organization of the visit of the Citadel

For the visit of the Citadel the conference delegates will be split into 5 groups according to the table below. The groups will be gathered in the central court of Espace Grammont at 6 pm after the afternoon session prior to join the buses for the transfer to the Citadel. The visit will be followed at 8.30 pm by the icebreaker at Espace Grammont.
